1958 Yonezawa, Remote Control Edsel Police Car in Original Box
Fantastic tin litho, remote controlled, battery operated Edsel Police Car complete with original box. Dark green two door with white hardtop and side molding. Loaded with chrome plated accessories. Remote control operated using tethered battery box. Best of all everything works great; forward, reverse, steering controlled front wheels, siren, and roof emergency light with original bulb. Vehicle is all metal. That includes the interior, exterior, solid plate chassis, body trim, steering wheel, hub cap covers, brass "E" hood ornament, and "POLICE" door emblems. Tires are solid rubber. Front and rear windshields are blue tinted celluloid. Metal battery box and paper insert are both original. Original box illustrated in color with 1955 Ford Police Car. Side panels show half portrait of the '55 Ford and a motorcycle cop. Box was manufactured by Shinsei and includes their SSK trademark. Yonezawa produced the actual toy, however there is no Yonezawa trademark on the either the toy, or box. Size: 10½" long. Sold: Aug. 2006
